About Event


The Namo Gange Trust is a non-profit organisation, founded by His Holiness Acharya Jagdish Ji to serve diverse extensions of 'World Family'. It is our privilege to have His Holiness Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, President & Spiritual Head of "Parmarth Niketan Ashram", Rishikesh (UK).

We believe that man is the author of its own destiny who has potential to transform the universal system by its fortitude, conviction and dedication. We do believe in clubbing the approach of Traditionalism, Spiritualism, Vedas and Yoga idealism blended with core fundamentals of modernism.

All India Council of Physical Education, has been constituted by academic and highly qualified professionals of physical education and sports sciences with primary focus on promotion and encouragement of multidisciplinary approach of Yoga, Ayurveda, Health, Wellness, Sports, Naturopathy and overall Fitness.

Both the non profit organisations have joined hands to launch a contest for exploration of "THE GRAND MASTER OF YOGA"


10th - 12th May 2019


  • Main objective of conducting and organizing this contest is to identify best talent in yoga.

  • To provide platform for getting success in yoga profession.

  • To promote demonstration ability coupled with varied degrees and intensity.

  • To promote acquired right knowledge in the field of yoga.

  • To check who can share their thoughts, vision about Yoga, it's philosophies, content and it’s impact in a presentable manner in front of public, media and mass.

  • To check who can lead the yoga in future perspectives.


  • In this contest any person, student (male or female) from any institute, college, school and university of India or abroad can participate.

  • Contestant should be above 16 years of age with good communication skills.


First Task

  • Contestant have to submit a video in which he/she shall present a demonstration of different Yog-Asana, Pranayama or Yogic Kriya's with varied degree, Gravity and Intensity.

  • Duration of the video should be with in 10-20 minutes.

  • While making the video emphasis should be given on demonstration as well as explanation of Yogic Asanas/Kriyas, Pranayama, Shatkarma or any sub theme of yoga.

  • While filming they should take care about the dress code and lighting effect. They may opt any type of music according to their perception and choice.

Second Task

  • Same contestant will submit a content written about different themes of yoga.

  • Content should represent contestant's own thoughts, vision, knowledge and philosophies of yoga.

  • Word limit is "4000 to 5000", font size is "12", in "Times Roman" or "Kruti Dev".

  • It should be in Hindi or English.

  • Content should be of thematic nature.

  • Concept and content should be plagiarized free.

  • Send video and content to the organizer of The Grand Master of Yoga.

Analyzation of First Round

  • Referee and jury will evaluate video and content of each contestant about the Yoga.

  • They will analyze each and every aspect of video as well as the thematic content about the Yoga.

  • They will interpret and submit their report to the organizer.

  • Forty (40) best contestants would be chosen amongst all participants and they will be eligible to participate in the Grand Finale at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi India.

Contestant would be evaluated and analyzed by jury and they will be divide into four groups Patanjali, Sankhya, Kapila and Vashisth according to their performance in first round.
  • A time slot of 20 minutes will be given to each contestant in 2nd round (10 minutes each for live demo and prestation).

  • Two finalists will be selected from each group and total eight finalists will be entering into final Interview round.

  • Jury will evaluate Performances on the basis of demonstrated Skill, degree, intensity, innovativeness, way of public speaking, content of yoga, knowledge of contestant, grace in execution, steadiness of posture, motor-ability, motor-component, employed techniques, control over movements and creativeness will be evaluated by the jury, accordingly the finalist would be chosen.

  • Judges will be appointed by the committee and their decisions will be final.

Contestant would be evaluated and analyzed by jury and they will be divide into four groups Patanjali, Sankhya, Kapila and Vashisth according to their performance in first round.

Criteria of Evaluation-100 points:

  • Physical performance evaluation (30 Points)

  • Mental performance evaluation (10 Points)

  • Spiritual evaluation (10 Points)

  • Social evaluation (10 Points)

  • life style evaluation:  (10 Points)

  • Presentation (10 Points)

  • Philosophical Knowledge Evaluation (10 Points)

  • Public Speaking (10 Points)

Modes of Selection

On the Spot Registration(Offline Registration)

In this the selection will be done through ‘Exclusive Audition’. Here the contestant will have to perform live in front of the Jury at the Venue.

Online Registration

Here the contestant have to send the video and write up.

The Grand Master of Yoga Auditions Venue

Venue for the Auditions are as follows:

  • Maa Yoga Ashram - Rishikesh(Uttarakhand)

  • The Yogshala Centre - Gujranwala Town, Model Town, New Delhi

  • Namo Gange Trust, Head Office - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad(Uttar Pradesh)

Audition Fee:

The participants will be charged Rs. 500 Per Head.

Categories Award

  • Free scholarship for first three categories up to Post Graduation in Yoga (with in India).

  • Job placement for The Grand Master in India/abroad (Rupees Fifty Thousand with in India).

  • Profile & Biography of The Grand Master of Yoga will be published in reputed Magazines.

  • Free membership of The Yogshala Centers for one Year.


Medical Certificate

  • The Medical Fitness Certificate of contestant is compulsory. Each contestant will submit Medical Fitness Certificate from M.B.B.S. Doctor.

  • Letter of consent from Parents and/or from concerned School, Institution and University is mandatory.

Dress Code

  • For all contestants: Body-fit Costume

  • It is expected from every contestant that they will wear descent costume in this contest.


Any stimulating drug/substance or alcoholic beverage must not be used before/during the contest by any contestant and their use will be treated as violation of the rules. The Committee reserve all rights to decide on prohibitions.
